For me, yes.
I made dinner–all by myself for the first time! I didn’t heat up food other people made. I made it from scratch. I even browned hamburger. That’s pretty cool.
It’s been three months. It’s been the slowest, most horrible three months of my life. I can only hope it will get easier, but I have a sinking feeling that it’s gonna get worse.
Sometimes I can’t tell you why I’m never home for dinner. Most the time I just have a full schedule and Leah isn’t even with me.
When I don’t have plans at dinner time, I usually find something to do–either eat out, or find someone who will feed me. Because it sucks to make dinner for me and a four year old. Why go through the work when one of us is fine with a hot dog and the other will just eat cold cereal?
And. Dinner time sucks by myself. The evenings are the hardest part of the day, the time when Brad’s absence is most pronounced. I know I have to get used to it. My waist line and my wallet can’t handle too much more. :)
So, what did I make for dinner?

It was pretty yummy. And fun for Leah and I to make together. I can't take credit for the picture, mine didn't look quite so pretty. (Click on the name for a link to the recipe)
I was excited to find a simple recipe that was easy to throw together for just two. If you have any more of those, send them my way. I’m going to try to make dinner at home more.
Baby steps. Baby steps.

Way to go !! You don't know me but I follow your blog and think this is such a great accomplishment. A few others I like for easy recipes are ; homemade pizza (great for left overs the next day) and pre made dough just add your sauce cheese and topping, quesadillas add all kinds of filling, pigs in a blanket cresant rolls wrapped around hot dogs, just a few ideas and these are all kid friendly. Dinner is a hard thing to do and I give you mad props for doing it , keep it up! Love, Melissa
hmm so do you prefer the hot dog or the cold cereal?
Come have dinner with me again soon.
Way to go Tahsha!
I'm extemely impressed. Don has been out of town this week and the closest I got to making dinner was mashing potatoes...
Hi Tahsha,
I saw your comment on my blog earlier, and have spent some time getting caught up on your story. My heart breaks for you two. If you ever need anyone to talk to or want to email or whatever, I'd love to listen.
